Your homeschooled kid can absolutely play sports. Here are 5 reasons they should, plus action steps to take to get started. Listen to the talk and grab the handout below. *Note: this recording is from a phone voice note, taken at my local homeschool conference talk. Enjoy!*
Homeschooling and Sports: Yes, you can. Yes, you should.
One of the biggest myths about homeschooling is that your kids will miss out on sports, or just miss out in things in general. In this talk, I walk through how homeschool families can access competitive athletics, from co-ops and community leagues to school-district participation laws, and why staying active is just as important as any subject in your curriculum. Whether your child is a casual player or a serious competitor, you absolutely can make it work.
In this talk, I’ll share 5 reasons why homeschoolers can and should participate in sports and extracurricular activities. There is a free printout/handout available on the button below the audio player.
Please note: this talk was delivered at a local to me homeschool conference, some of the points relate directly to my area but most of the talk is applicable to all homeschool families. Also, this is entirely unedited. I just uploaded the voice memo I recorded, so, sorry for it being a bit rough. Do listen all the way through though, there are some great tidbits in the questions at the end.
