About Me

Hi, I’m Nichole. The creator and voice behind Luckey Wanderers.

I’m an adventure mom, homeschooler, and storyteller who believes that learning doesn’t have to be confined to a classroom. I believe it’s a lifelong pursuit and that some of the most meaningful education happens on back roads, in national parks, inside museums, and through shared experiences.

For more than a decade, I’ve been exploring the United States with my kids, weaving travel, curiosity, and real-life learning into our everyday lives. Along the way, I’ve learned that you don’t have to choose between responsibility and adventure. That you can absolutely do both. I’ve created a life that fits who I am as a mother, always choosing to be responsibly brave.

Luckey Wanderers is where I share that journey.

Here you’ll find stories, guides, and encouragement for families who want to explore more. Whether that means planning a big trip, taking a meaningful day adventure close to home, or simply rethinking what learning and life can look like together. For us, homeschooling is big part of our life and so is adventure. We’ve found a way to blend the two into our own special sauce that I call adventure schooling. As my kids are growing older, I continue to choose an adventurous, outdoors and travel focused life for myself and am embracing more solo adventures and travels.

Luckey Wanderers sits at the intersection of:

  • family travel and road trips
  • adventure schooling and experiential learning
  • unique places to stay and things to do
  • encouragement for parents who want to do this their way

I believe in being responsibly brave; taking steps outside your comfort zone while still honoring your values, your season of life, and your family.

As my kids grow, so does this space. Luckey Wanderers is evolving from “travel and homeschool with little kids” into something broader. It’s a resource and inspiration for families with older kids, teens, and eventually for parents rediscovering what adventure looks like as their lives shift again.

If you’re here because you want:

  • practical inspiration without pressure
  • encouragement without judgment
  • adventure that feels doable, not performative

You’re in the right place. Welcome, and I’m really glad you’re here.
